Burden

If living your life and trying to reach a goal is hard for you… maybe it’s not about what you are doing bad, maybe it’s because of all the burden that you are keeping in your mind. Have you thought about that?

People don’t usually think about how much they are paying for keeping “on their backs” certain kinds of burden: anger, bad memories, grief, regret… You try and try to move ahead, but sometimes the weight is too heavy to let you go on.

And the solution is simple (although sometimes not easy to apply): let them go. Let all the fears, anger, and all the rest go away. It’s not about “letting them win”, it’s about not letting anyone rent a space in your mind without really paying the rent (as I have told you about in my book). Will you allow it? Maybe they hurt you, but you are still giving them power over you, keeping them limiting your success and development. Does it really worth it?

If letting go is hard for you, you can try these recipes:

  • Thank them for the lessons learnt. If someone hurt you, the best thing you can do is taking some advantage of it. And I’m not talking about revenge, I’m talking about learning something from the situations, at least so you don’t repeat them in the future.
  • Forgive them for what they told you. After all, you are better, so you can forgive them and forget.
  • Forgive yourself for making that mistake. Sometimes the heaviest burden is the one that we keep because of some mistake we made. You are the person that you love the most in the world (or at least, you should). That’s why you should forgive you for anything that you might have done in the past. Lesson learned.
